Collection: Peninnis Head Lighthouse Collection

Peninnis Head Lighthouse on St Mary's was built by Trinity House in 1911, superseding the St. Agnes lighthouse established in 1680. Peninnis was converted from gas to electrically powered operation in 1992.

Located on the outer headland at the most southerly point of St Mary’s, Peninnis Lighthouse helps to guide vessels entering St Mary’s Sound and Hugh Town harbour.
